“Son grand talent aurait dû croître et exploser dans n’importe quel autre contexte. Là,
il restait écrasé sous le poids de deux génies”. C’est ainsi que le producteur George Martin
résumait la difficile position de George Harrison au sein des Beatles.
Pourtant, avec le groupe ou en solo, le guitariste discret et timide n’a jamais manqué de talent,
et il suffit de réécouter “Taxman”, “Something”,
“My sweet Lord” ou encore “All those years ago” pour en être persuadé.
George Harrison nous a quittés le 29 novembre 2001 à l'âge de 58 ans.
L'album posthume "BRAINWASHED" est paru une année plus tard exactement..

Olivia Harrison and Eric Clapton have planned a very special performance tribute
in honour of George Harrison. This unique event will take
place November 29, 2002 - the one-year anniversary of George’s passing.
The evening will feature the music of George Harrison, as well as music he loved.
Performers include (in alphabetical order):
Joe Brown, Eric Clapton, Jools Holland, Jim Keltner, Jeff Lynne, Sir Paul McCartney,
various members of Monty Python’s Flying Circus,
Tom Petty, Leon Russell, Ravi Shankar and Ringo Starr. Eric Clapton will
supervise the musical content of the tribute.
Proceeds from the concert will be donated to The Material World Charitable Foundation.
Funded by George Harrison since its establishment in 1973,
the foundation supports the arts, music,
education and people with special needs.

The tribute for George will resound not only within
the Albert Hall but hopefully reach the spirit of the man so loved by his
